student will research the significance of the Thanksgiving
turkey. Using this information each student will write a brief
report on the word processor, illustrated with a turkey from
a previous paint program lesson.

This
project is an opportunity for teachers throughout the Clearview
Division to participate, by creating technology-based projects,
in the creation of a meta-project dealing with research, understanding
and ultimately celebrating the various communities within
our School Division community.

Getting
to Know You |
| |
|
Students
will fill in a template (using Inspirations) that will tell
all about themselves and their favourite things using
words and graphics. Following this or while students are working
on the computer, one student at a time will be recording a
story, history or poem that reflects themselves, using a tape
recorder.

The
2000 Summer Olympics |
| |
|
Students
will learn about the Olympics (eg. how they came to be, how
athletes get into the Olympics, what sports are included in
the summer Olympics, comparison of results over time, etc.)
Students will also track Canada's progress throughout the
Olympics (e.g.. degree of success of athletes, medals won,
improvement in standings, etc.) Students will compare Canada's
progress to that of other countries.

completion of an artist study, students will write about the
Arctic and illustrate using Ted Harrison's style. Students will
then share their work over the net with other classes around
the world. |

will also be presented with pictures of various objects found
around the world and will classify shapes and be challenged
to build, photograph, draw & paint objects found in their
own environment.
- Students
appreciate the relationship between the physical properties
they are able to manipulate with the graphical representation
of shapes.
