Turkey Draw
   

Using the paint program the student will draw a Thanksgiving turkey by following verbal instructions.

 
Turkey Facts - Resource Room
   

Each student will research the significance of the Thanksgiving turkey. Using this information each student will write a brief report on the word processor, illustrated with a turkey from a previous paint program lesson.

 
Integrated Lesson for Knights and Dragons Unit
   

The learners will draw a dragon's foot following certain parameters then use those parameters to create a database and graph in a spread sheet document.

 
Our Community of Communities
   

This project is an opportunity for teachers throughout the Clearview Division to participate, by creating technology-based projects, in the creation of a meta-project dealing with research, understanding and ultimately celebrating the various communities within our School Division community.

Getting to Know You
   

Students will fill in a template (using Inspirations) that will tell all about themselves and their favourite things— using words and graphics. Following this or while students are working on the computer, one student at a time will be recording a story, history or poem that reflects themselves, using a tape recorder.

 
The 2000 Summer Olympics
   

Students will learn about the Olympics (eg. how they came to be, how athletes get into the Olympics, what sports are included in the summer Olympics, comparison of results over time, etc.) Students will also track Canada's progress throughout the Olympics (e.g.. degree of success of athletes, medals won, improvement in standings, etc.) Students will compare Canada's progress to that of other countries.

Early Computer Education
 
This unit in many respects is still in the design stage. As you use it, you will discover that you can easily expand the stack to include your requirements. The purpose of this "unit" is to teach students proper terms, proper posture and proper usage of the computer lab and its equipment.
 
A Northern Gallery Inspired by Ted Harrison
 
Upon completion of an artist study, students will write about the Arctic and illustrate using Ted Harrison's style. Students will then share their work over the net with other classes around the world.

Geometry - 2 & 3 Dimensional Objects
   
  • The students will gain a better understanding of 2D & 3D shapes. In this unit students will classify, describe, measure, draw & construct various 2D and 3D objects.
  • Students will also be presented with pictures of various objects found around the world and will classify shapes and be challenged to build, photograph, draw & paint objects found in their own environment.
  • Students appreciate the relationship between the physical properties they are able to manipulate with the graphical representation of shapes.

  • Brainstorm to name several local animals
  • Choose 5 animals from the list.
  • Research, using The Animals CD ROM, The Internet, and books from the library.
  • Look for : colour, size, where it lives, what it eats, how it gets its food, how it protects itself, an interesting fact about each animal
